Pete Jones graduated from Dickinson College with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Political Science, is a graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity, and he recently received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. As the father of four children and the husband of an educator, Pete centers his call to ministry in both the local and global community, with a focus on applying faith to a world in need. Pete keeps his office door open and thrives on the energy and relationships of this thriving congregation!

 

The Rev. Katherine Pater

Rev. Katherine Pater graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Political Science and Religious Studies. After receiving her Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, she was ordained to serve a small ecumenical mission in El Salvador. Upon returning to the United States, she studied organic and sustainable agriculture at the Farm School in Athol, MA. Before serving as the Associate Pastor of Mission, Outreach, and Church Families at Hitchcock, she served as the Minister for Christian Education at First Congregational Church of Milton, MA.

Dr. John T. King
Minister of Music

Dr. John T. King has served as Minster of Music at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church, Scarsdale, NY, since 1990, where he administers and conducts the multiple choir program. Dr. King holds a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Louisville, a Master of Music degree from Yale University and Doctor of Musical Arts from Manhattan School of Music. In addition, he serves as Artistic Director and Conductor of the New Choral Society. Dr. King has given organ concerts throughout the United States and Europe and has performed and guest conducted for several American Guild of Organists workshops and choral festivals. He has served as an adjunct professor of music history, theory and conducting at Concordia College, Bronxville, and Mount Saint Mary’s College.

 

Carol Lavis
Director of Children’s Ministry

Carol graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a major in Business Management. Following University, she worked in Switzerland and the U.K. in Human Resources with various positions in Compensation & Benefits, HR IT, HR Service Center Implementation, Senior HR Generalist and Country HR Officer - Switzerland. In 2007, she returned to the US. taking a break from the corporate world and focused on raising her family. Carol is excited to embark on her new passion of early childhood education and returned to work as a preschool teacher in 2018. She has been activity involved in many of our Hitchcock programs and is committed to continuing the growth of our Christian Education Program.

The Rev. William (Bill) Weisenbach, D. Min.

Dr. Weisenbach, DMin, DD (Bill to adults) graduated from Nyack College with a degree in music education, but after student teaching chose to continue his education at New York Theological Seminary. After graduation he continued there eventually becoming Professor of Practical Theology and Vice President of Academic Affairs. During those years he taught literally thousands of students including those at Sing Sing Prison. At the age of fifty he decided to see if he could do what he taught and resigned his faculty position to become the pastor of Philipstown Presbyterian Church in Cold Spring and finally as Senior Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Katonah from which he was honorable retired in 2012. Bill continues as a Trustee and Adjunct Professor at NYTS teaching its Presbyterian students and as a clergy coach and consultant for congregations in conflict resolution.
