Celebrating it’s 50th Year in 2025-2026!

Living in America (LIA) is a Hitchcock outreach program that meets on Thursday mornings at the church and virtually filling the needs of over 5,700 international adults since 1976. The program encourages conversation in English. If you know any international adults who are interested in making friends and learning about America Culture while improving their English, please recommend LIA to them. Many friendships made at LIA have continued for years, and alumnae groups meet regularly in Tokyo.

CLASSES

In-house and virtual classes will meet on Thursday mornings from September 17, 2026 until early-June 2026. They will be held from 9:30am – 11:30am with time to socialize from 9:00am – 9:30am. By using virtual technology, students can join LIA classes from anywhere in the world!  So, whether they are nearby in Westchester, halfway around the world, or somewhere in between, they are welcome to join LIA.

REGISTRATION

In the church on Thursday September 10, 2026 any time between 9:30am and 11:30am. After that, students may also register in the church any Thursday morning from 9:00am - 9:30am. Students may also register online any time.

REGISTRATION FEE

There will be a $25 registration fee for all students to help cover administrative costs. The Hitchcock Outreach Committee also helps fund the program.

SPECIAL EVENT

On Thursday December 17, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:30 am, there will be an in-house Christmas Service and celebration sponsored by LIA and Presbyterian Women. This program is a wonderful way for Hitchcock members and their friends to have a “hands-on” opportunity for service and outreach.
