Praying in community is a tangible way to “love your neighbor” and to grow in our own faith. Praying for each other knits the community of faith together. Two individuals, who participate in this coming together to praise God, express gratitude for all his bounty to us, and intercede for others, share these comments:

“Despite a busy schedule, the bi-monthly Saturday morning prayer meetings via Zoom are opportunities to connect online with Hitchcock Church friends to pray, and turn my thoughts to God and find peace of mind.” - Grace Z.

“Even today I repeat childhood prayers. As I reflect on those prayers, I smile with gratitude for this habit started early. Prayer is a conversation with a loving God, who invites us to draw near and commune with Him. The more I pray, the more I understand and appreciate the connection with God. God will give us what is good in His time through prayer. I have come to realize and accept that prayers are answered on God’s timing and not by our timetable. I have faced tragedies that have saddened and upset me for a long time. Through the power of prayer I was able to survive these situations and thrive. Praise God!” - Zenobia K.

Praying together in community knits us together in one mind as we intercede on behalf of others.  The dynamics in our relationship with God changes as we pray for and with each other.  It is a tangible way to “love your neighbor”, a vital part of growing in our own faith, not just a pleasant thing to do for someone.

“God will keep in perfect peace all whose thoughts are stayed on Him, all who put their trust in Him”. Isaiah 26:3
