Our children's choirs offer young people the opportunity to build relationships with each other in a caring Christian community by coming together in fellowship on a weekly basis. The children's choir program at the Church is grade- and age-appropriate. At each level musical skills and theological concepts are taught in a supportive environment. All are welcome.
Cherub Choir is designed for preschool children, age 3 and 4, to enjoy music, movement and rhythm games to develop their musical senses. This group is led by Kathleen Mahan on Wednesday in the Toddler room from 4:20-4:40 p.m.
Youth Choir is for children grades 6 through 8. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 5:10-5:30 p.m. in the choir room, just prior to Youth Forum. This choir sings about once a month in worship and for the major celebrations of the church, frequently teaming with the Junior Choir.
Junior Choir is for children in grades 3-5. Further development of musical skills such as part singing, vocal development, sight singing, and hymn memorization are emphasized. They participate in Sunday worship about once a month, and participate in special music services throughout the year including the Christmas Eve Pageant, and the Choir Festival Service in February. Rehearsals are in the choir room on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:10 p.m.
