THRIFT SHOP

THE THRIFT SHOP IS OPERATED BY PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN.

When: Every Monday (except Federal Holidays)

Time: 10 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. 

Where: Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in the Lower Children's House

Who: Women from the church and the community.

Closures: Federal Holidays

Each Monday at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church, women and men come together from the church and community to volunteer to receive, sort and price merchandise for sale.

Volunteers are needed and always welcome to (even if you only have an hour) sort, price, and prepare

The Thrift Shop operation is a fourfold blessing for the community:

  • Serving as an outlet for quality pre-owned clothing and household goods

  • Offering customers, a wide variety of goods at affordable prices

  • Raises thousands of dollars annually for PW's benevolent giving

  • Presents opportunities for vital volunteer service and friendship

Facts that you may not know about the PW Thrift Shop:

  • The Thrift shop has been in existence for over 30 years.

  • The Shop requires for more than 2,000 volunteer hours per year.

  • Men are always welcome to shop and volunteer.

  • Midnight Run receives a steady supply of clothing and other items for the homeless.

  • Until the Pandemic, the PW Board gave away over $30,000- $35,000 in grants annually to primarily women and children's charities.

  • PW supports various disaster relief organizations through benevolence.

  • Locally, Lifting up Westchester, the Emergency Ecumenical Food Pantry and El Centro Hispano have benefited from PW grants.

  • On average 25 to 35 federally recognized non-profit organizations benefit from PW grants on an annual basis.
