Hitchcock is committed to nurturing the faith formation of its children. The Sunday School program consists of classes for children in Kindergarten through 8th grades during Sunday morning worship. We use the We Believe curriculum, which guides learners through the key texts of the Old and New Testaments. Classes are taught by teaching teams to provide consistency and relationships as vital parts of the classroom experience. Lessons are centered on the Bible story for the day and reinforced through a variety of age-appropriate activities, including drama, art, conversations, games and service projects. We want our children to not only use their heads in class, but also their hands and their hearts. Our overall goal is to provide a welcoming environment that fosters Christian community and models the unconditional love that God has for us all.
Faith formation at Hitchcock also involves worship. On Sundays when communion is celebrated during worship, children will return to the service so that they can participate in this sacrament with their families.
