Men’s Breakfast at Hitchcock
Many will remember the periodic Men’s Breakfast Meetings on Sunday mornings in the past. We met to discuss topics thought to be of interest to men while enjoying a great breakfast (cooked by the men). For many reasons, the program lapsed.
Since then, so many things have happened in the Church and in our world. We have many new members and many new issues to consider. It was floated that we re-start the Men’s Breakfast program, only meeting three times a year (October, February, and June).
One topic seems most relevant to this time and to this group. Some people have sadly known and others belatedly have become aware of significant gender-related issues in the workplace, in education, and in many other areas of our lives. Therefore, for our first breakfast meeting, the topic will be RECOGNIZING HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE.
We have invited Leslie Mott. M. Div., RYT, CFP, to lead our discussion. Rev. Mott has recently served as Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown for thirteen years and is currently a member of the Bedford Church staff. She now ministers in the area of clergy care and nurture. She works broadly as a Spiritual Director and Certified Focusing Professional. In addition to groups counseling activities, she has a private practice.
Our first meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2018 at 8AM in the Lower Children’s House. A team will cook breakfast–please advise of any dietary concerns. The program will be introduced and then led by Rev. Mott. We will also organize a clean-up crew to complete the session.
There will be a sign-up sheet in the Lower Children’s House for attendance and cooking assistance. We will ask for a donation at the breakfast to cover costs.
Your opinion of this meeting/topic and suggestions for future topics is most welcome.
